One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 2 Review

Published on October 19,2025

Garou One punch man season 3

From season 1 with Madhouse to Season 2 and 3 with J.C Staff studios. To me i's like day vs night. The difference between these two studios is outstanding. J.C Staff has in my opinion produced the worst season of an anime, well at least the worst 2 episodes. I really hate making negative reviews on an anime, especially when this one is One Punch man which I've been a crazy fan of since the beginning, so writing this review really breaks my heart. I don't necessary blame the studio, because we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. This could just be the case of not receiving enough budget to produce a proper season and would of course be understandable if that was the case. Although we have seen in the past that J.C staff does in fact know how to produce an anime if given the right budget, take Fairy tail 100 years quest for example or even Konosuba Gods Blessing on this Wonderful World.

Episode 2 Review

Garou one punch man season 3

Episode 1 of One Punch Man season 3 was bad to say the least, for example there were a lot of still frames and moving images that didn't sync well with the background (Garou walking in corridor). Episode 2 however did seem like there was better movement but there were so many other things that did not quite work well. First off, the mouth of some characters, especially the villains, stayed open until the conversation was done, there was no lips sync whatsoever which really annoyed me. It feels like you watching a still image with a voice over almost like a manga panel with an audiobook, it was really a disaster.

We also seen Garou move weirdly when coming down a hill of grass, there was no animation whatsoever, it felt like the character layer was simply just being moved down. It's something anyone can do on an editing app, it looked like it was literally a cropped image being dragged across the screen.

The ending however set us up for the next episode which looks like it will involve some action and I'm hopeful but scared at the same time. Looking at these first two episode, i can't help but feel we going to be let down with the next one, hopefully I'm wrong and they just trolling us with these first two episodes, but it was a HUGE disappointment to say the least. Like I said, I really hate writing such a negative review of a franchise that I adore, the manga has been in my top 10 reads of all time, and this is just sad to see what has become of the adaptation. Well, hopefully I'm wrong and the next episode will be S-tier but at this point that still seems like a far stretch given what we've seen so far.

Looking Ahead

I'd like to end this on a good note, so the good points of this season is definitely the artwork, it's bright, engaging and beautiful to look at. If there was a lot of ANIMATION this season would be godly. The second episode was also a bit better than the first other than the points I mentioned above, so maybe the next episode will be even better!
