Demon Slayer might've just gave us a streaming release year for their new movie

Demon Slayer's theatre film has officially become the best anime movie in the world. It will now become the first anime to get $1 Billion worldwide according to an analyst (Davi de Moraes.) So this is pretty much expected at this point as the movie didn't get so popular because of some trend, this time the movie was actually good, so good in fact that it is now on the verge of surpassing the avengers which is a Hollywood movie. This is insane especially for an anime because it is so niche compared to Hollywood films. A box office analysts is predicting a 400 million dollar box office run for the new movie in China which will launch this November on the 14th 2025.

Demon Slayer Announced some bad news

So while it is good and all, that the series is reaching so much success, among this was some bad news just a couple of days ago for those who are still waiting for the movie to be released on their respective streaming platform. So the official X account for demon slayer announced that the Infinity Castle movie will be available to watch exclusively in movie theatres in 2026. This send a buzz throughout the community and it's speculated that this has received some backlash because some people can't make it to the theatres for 1 or another reason.

Good news is still a possibility for 2026

Today on November 6, 2025, via X @animeupdates_ posted a new post (post above) that the official English X account for Demon Slayer has now deleted that tweet, which could be good new for a 2026 streaming release date.

While this doesn't exactly imply the movie won't be in theatres in 2026, it does hint that the movie will be available on streaming platforms such as Crunchyroll in 2026 (speculation).

Despite not having any news on a streaming release date, and given the history with Crunchyroll and the producers, its almost guaranteed that the movie will stream there when it releases, but as of yet we can't have high expectations for a 2026 release date just yet. The studio might want to come up with a work around to keep the movie in theatres for 2026, this tweet from them could still be something official because they as of the date of this publication, have not released a statement responding to their deleted X post.
