One punch man season 3 received mixed reception from many fans. From the majority of still frames, the weird animation, (Garou sliding scene) right down to inconsistencies in the voice and mouth sync. Season 3 was a disappointment to some of the fandom. However, with all this being said. The staff and the director are facing a lot of harassment because of this, and the director, Shinpei Nagai, has since deactivated his social account because of this uncalled for behaviour.

On October 22nd the director who couldn't stay quiet anymore, addressed his followers on his X account about why he will be deactivating his social media account. This address focused on the harassment of him and his team who were doing all they could for the anime with what resources they had.
Director of OPM statement (Translated by Grok and summarised)
I'm sad to share that I'm shutting down my social media account due to some so-called "fans" spreading negativity and twisting my words for their own gain. These actions, like misquoting me or pushing for info that breaks confidentiality agreements, are unfair and hurt the project. I've always poured my heart into this work for the fans, but this toxic environment is too much. It’s the true fans who suffer most from this, and I can’t stand by while people disrespect our team’s efforts or profit off hate. This is also taking a toll on my mental health and harming the project and its creators. I won’t be making new accounts, and I hope you understand why I’m stepping away. To the fans who’ve shown real kindness, thank you, and I’m sorry - t was a great ride.
This news is a very sad thing to see in this modern era. Fans are more than welcome to critique the series and review it to help future studios and the current team to create something better later on, but targeting your hate towards the staff is completely uncalled for and just makes things worse. There is no good outcome that will come from this, only a team that would be afraid to even attempt the series again. The director’s decision to deactivate his account highlights the need for respectful fan feedback, as harassment can take a toll on creators.
One of the biggest issues here is that no one knows how much budget the current studio had to work with. Afterall season 2 which was produced from the same studio did do a good job even though it was a downgrade from season 1. But we know that if they had the budget and right amount of resources they would've easily made a good season. So my point being they can't take all the heat for this as the studio might be under budget constraints.
One punch man season 3 is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
