Saga of tanya the evil is one of those anime that I often at times just think of out the blue, the reason for this is because the last time we even seen this series was back in 2019 with the movie which was in fact canon to the story. It carries on from season 1 with the main protagonist (Tanya Degurechaff) and her battalion being sent to the border of the Russy Federation. Over here they are attacked by an army led by the Allied Kingdom. This new season will carry on from the last events of the movie.

We've known now for a very long time that a season 2 will be released, because it was already confirmed back in June 2021. Now finally we got more news on a release date and it's right around the corner and this new trailer teases how good it will be.

Release window announced

Today on November 28, 2025, it was announced that The Saga of Tanya the Evil will be released sometime in 2026. The trailer is mostly made up of events from the previous season and the previous movie. The ending does showcases some new scenes but it's still too short to make a big judgements on the new season. But if we judge solely off this end teaser, the new season is looking to be just as good as the previous one.

There was also a statement from the new director of season 2 which stated " I am extremely honored to be involves in the production of Tanya the Evil. We are currently working hard with the wonderful staff, so please wait a little longer!"

Season 2 will pick up from the events of the movie, which was teased in the trailer. This means we will see Tanya cpntinue to rise above the ranks and the trailer proves that the studio isnt holding anytging back.

The Saga of Tanya the Evil follows a cold-blooded Japanese salaryman who after mocking a being (he insists it’s God), is reincarnated as a young girl named Tanya Degurechaff, in an alternate early-20th-century world where magic exists alongside a massive global war reminiscent of World War 1. He is now armed with his previous life’s intellect and ruthless pragmatism which could be considered a powerful weapon, being his brain, plus powerful new magical abilities, Tanya becomes an extraordinarily efficient and terrifyingly effective soldier. All she wants is a safe, cushy desk job far from the front lines however her exceptional talent and ambition keep taking her up the military hierarchy and thrusting her deeper into the heart of the conflict she’s desperately trying hard to avoid.
