Secrets of the silent witch just ended it's first season, and man what a season it was! This story follows a young girl named Monica Everette, who is silent but extremely powerful and yes, she is silent in two ways. First, she is shy and suffers from social anxiety and secondly she uses silent magic, and in this magical world she is the only mage who can cast silent spells, making her a genius. At the age of 15, she was chosen to be one of the Seven Sages, who are the kingdom's greatest mages, making her become the youngest person to accomplish the feat.
This series follows Monica as she is sent on a secret mission to protect a prince at the Serendia Academy. This new opportunity gives Monica something that she was missing and that is to get into a new school as a totally new person under the alias of Monica Norton.
Season 1 Review

This series is by far one of my favorite Summer anime 2025. The series showcased amazing animation, for example, in the first episode we can see the background blur (depth of field) and the camera angles were impressive to say the least, and this is not even getting into the storyline. The series was largely faithful to the light novel, which is a breath of fresh air and this specifically for me can make or break an anime, don't get me wrong, original anime sprinkled in is perfectly fine, but drastic changes in each episode is definitely a deal breaker for me. If I had to think of another anime series that fits this one, I would say "Frieren". The series focuses on the actual story and doesn't go much into fan service which is a breath of fresh air when compared to most of the modern fantasy anime of today. The action sequences are also a masterpiece and it definitely does not look like a low budget anime, the studio went all out on every action scene that was present in the season and wow! what a ride that was, these scenes definitely will leave you with goosebumps all the way through them.
So the story and action scenes is good, but what really makes this anime stick out, is the mystery throughout the anime, because everyone thinks Monica is some shy little girl, but in fact she is one of the most powerful mages in the kingdom. If i think back on the series i don't recall any parts that I particularly disliked, each episode was made with passion behind it, and me for one, i DEFINATELY cant wait for the next season! So with the animation and the storyline as well as the faithful adaptation I give the series a strong 8.5 out of 10!
