The Beginning of the end was one of the most anticipated anime of 2025 on Crunchyroll, and after it was released, the anime was underwhelming to say the least. The first season which ran for 12 episode was initially decided to run for 24, however because of the backlash of the first season which was described by some as "just a bunch of still frames" the last 12 episodes would rather be delayed, and instead of calling it a second cour, the studio decided it was best to name it season 2, because this new season will most likely be redone or much more polished, and this seems to be true especially after seeing the new trailer
The studio behind The beginning after the end's anime adaption, studio A-cat, released a new trailer which looks much more promising and hopeful compared to the flop of the previous season. The animation looks more in-line with current standards, however being that this is the trailer, the studio would obviously highlight the seasons best moments or at least best animation scenes, so we would only be able to tell how good it is after seeing the first episode, however, is it too late? After the flop of the first season, a lot of people got turned away and the majority of people don't specifically follow news etc. on each anime especially after dropping one after the first couple of episodes. This would mean that the anime would have already lost a major portion of its audience and the only way to get them to return is to make the second one so good that it creates a buzz which isn't impossible, but it isn't easy!
A Release Date Announced
at the end of the trailer, it was announced that season 2 would be airing in April 2026. Anime of a new seasonal cycle tend to broadcast during the beginning of these cycles which means roughly before the 10th of said month. It is highly like that the new season will air between the 1st to the 10th of April 2026, however that precise date is purely speculation.
