Overgeared has got a massive amount of world building, from unique quests that players happen to stumble across, all the way to beings that transcend humanity. Where this story takes a whole new-level approach to gods is that humans can actually reach that level through achievements that allow them to transcend to divinity. This honestly makes the journey even more compelling to watch. So, this changes the entire theme from how could they defeat a god to how can they become one.

All Known Strongest Gods in Overgeared
15. Lars

Overgeared is filled with tons of different fighting styles, but for Lars, even though he's a god, he's actually only the god of fishing. He was once a noble's son, but his father starved the people, so Lars used fishing to feed the hungry poor. According to the lore, his father then contaminated the pool, and when Lars jumped in, he died. And then the aspirations of the people saved him and transformed him into the god of fishing.
He later joined the Overgeared world when Grid rescued him from a tomb. It's actually a heartbreaking story, but it ended well because now he serves as a symbol and enriches the people who are under Grid's protection.
Powers:
Helps people catch fish + small abundance.
With Debirion: minor buffs
14. Euphemina - The Overgeared Magic God

Euphemina, the Overgeared Magic God, is actually a player and rose through the ranks to where she is now. Out of all the players in the game, she was the very first to obtain an epic-rated hidden class called "Duplicator," which lets her secretly copy other people's skills, and honestly, without her and this skill, I doubt Grid would be where he is now. She was part of one of his first main quests that involved the blacksmith and gaining the territory.
Oddly enough, she was also one of the first players to rank up to god after defeating an entire angel army, which is something no other player has done. In turn, this, combined with the power of the Fruit of Good and Evil and the growth of her previous class, "Mumud's Successor," allowed her to ascend further. Although she is a god in a sense, she still serves under Grid in the Divine Dimension he created.
Powers:
Multi-Resource Divine Magic - She can freely use and switch between three resources: Normal Mana, Divine Power, and Black Magic Power.
Enhanced Mumud Magic at God Level - All of Mumud's magic system is now powered by her divinity. The spells are stronger, more stable, and scale with her god status and the faith of those who revere the Overgeared God.

13. Dalvida - The God of Water

Dalvida is a lesser-known god in the series, but is confirmed nonetheless, which is why she's on this list. Grid, as we all know, is the most powerful and even has this god serving under him, being that he is just a plain badass. Also, as the name implies, she's the "God of Water." Although she's not one of the primordial gods like Rebecca, Yatan, or Hanul, she is believed to have been born through faith and the natural forces of the world.
Powers:
Holds divine authority over water and possesses water-related divine powers.
Has genuine divinity and the status of a god.
Beyond this, the novel gives almost zero specific details about her, unfortunately. Unlike the major gods, Dalvida remains a background character who we don't quite know much about fully just yet.
12. Garion - The God of Earth

Garion is one of the more gentle deities in the series and was created by Rebecca. Garion is described as a young woman with large pupils, drooping eyes, and a soft figure that evokes a big sister or even a motherly charm of sorts. What I believe makes her the gentlest is because she is really sensitive to destruction of the land and even goes out of her way to expand her powers to restore the earth to the state before the destruction. She now serves as one of Grid's chief gods.
Powers:
Earth Manipulation - She controls and shapes the earth and terrain. / can repair massive damage done to the land by using her divinity.
Earth Creation - She can create or reshape natural features such as lakes, rivers, and terrain.
11. Hexetia - The God of Blacksmithing

While Grid's journey has been mostly by chance, this god plays a crucial role in it later in the story. Hexetia is the god of blacksmithing and is connected to Grid. His origin story is a tale as old as time and your more typical approach to a god, or more specifically, one fallen from grace. Hexetia descended to the human world to teach humanity about fire and iron, which helped civilization develop through tools and craftsmanship.
However, over time, he got jealous and resented humans who were talented, such as a more prominent figure in the story, Pagma, and his successor, Grid. Grid has a competition against him and actually won; however, Hexetias skills surpasses Grid's in pure blacksmithing but Grid ultimately surpasses him in certain aspects of blacksmithing.
Powers:
God of Blacksmithing - Has divine authority over blacksmithing and craftsmanship.
Divine Blacksmithing - He can forge very powerful weapons, armor, and artifacts.
Advanced Metalworking - Highly skilled ability to work with metals and rare materials.
Divine Fire - Uses powerful divine flames in his forging.

10. Judar - The God of Health and Wisdom

Judar is more of a minor God in the series and is known as the God of Health and Wisdom. These are basically the two essential survival pillars for humanity, but unlike the other gods, such as Yatan, who is closer to destruction, Judar is connected to the prosperity of humans, also like Lars, but in a more fundamental way. Judar is also connected to the Judar Church, who are one of the major religions in Satisfy.
Powers:
Health Authority - Powers associated with health, vitality, physical condition, and preservation of life.
Wisdom - Divine knowledge and wisdom associated with his domain.
Divine Blessings - Can grant blessings/power to his followers through the Judar Church.
9. Braham - The God of Magic and Wisdom

Braham is known as the God of Magic and Wisdom and is actually a direct descendant of a powerful vampire queen named Beriache. Although she had many children, Braham stuck out the most interesting and knowledgeable. He's personally one of my favourites because of his entire personality, you know the vampire theme with a smart vocabulary.
He was born a pure-blood vampire but became obsessed with learning everything. He wanted above all to know everything there was about magic and being the smartest being ever. So after countless studies and experiments, he became the greatest magician in history. Now, a lot of people still refer to him as the legendary magician.
Now, the interesting part which may sound weird, is that he actually lived inside Grid's body as a soul for a long time because it was destroyed and broken into pieces. One piece went inside Grid, and they became sort of roommates. After a long time like this, Braham eventually left Grid's body and got a new one.
Powers:
Legendary-level magic - He can learn and use almost every magic in existence
Magic Contemplation - He can see how any magic works and stop or strengthen it
Create new magic - Can invent his own original spells
Mental World (Knowledge Rooms) - Special domains for studying and experimenting with magic
God of Magic and Wisdom powers - After becoming a god, his magic became even more overwhelming and divine-level
8. Dominion - The God of War and Victory

Dominion is much more different from the previous gods on this list because he is one of the three main gods of Asgard. He is the chief god and one of the most powerful ones in the series. He has a massive body that looks quite imposing and is surrounded by a godly presence. This god lives up to a certain noble stature, and what I mean by that is he is extremely strict with the rule of law and order. Anyone who goes against his order is a sinner, and they must be punished. This is fitting for a god of war, right, or should I say, a "noble" god of war.
In the story, he descends to the surface to actually attack Grid after he created the Overgeared world, but ultimately, he was left in failure, and so he leaves.
Powers:
Impenetrable armor - Has an extremely strong defensive armor that is nearly impossible to cut or even pierce. Additionally, It can tank almost any physical attack.
Spear that pierces anything - This divine spear has an unconditional penetration effect. This means it can pierce through almost any defense and deals massive damage (one shown instance had 41,000 attack power). When thrown, it is extremely fast and destructive.

7. Zeratul - The Martial God of Asgard

Chiyou is one of the strongest gods in the series, which means he will definitely be on this list, but he actually is only a copied imitation. Zeratul was created by the Goddess Rebecca as an imitation of the true Martial God, Chiyou. Zeratul however, serves as Rebecca's sword and shield and is one of the chief gods of Asgard, and many characters refer to him as the Fake Martial God.
He appears as an old man with a dark, direct gaze, with a long beard and grey hair. He is a proud man who is obsessed with strength and constantly tries to prove that his martial arts is actually the supreme one. Just like many other gods, this one descended to the world and got, let's just say badly defeated by Grid.
Powers:
Martial Arts Mastery - Possesses extraordinary mastery of martial arts and can even fight with a wide variety of weapons.
Self-Defense Divinity - Possesses a powerful defensive technique that can withstand attacks from extremely powerful opponents.
Martial God's Pressure - His divine presence can overwhelm and suppress opponents.
Martial Arts Transmission - Can teach powerful martial techniques to others.
Martial God's Secret Technique - Can produce skill books containing powerful martial arts, with the system allowing him to produce one every week.
Weapon Mastery - Can turn a wide variety of weapons and objects into deadly tools.
Extreme Martial Ability - Possesses tremendous physical strength, speed, combat instincts, and martial adaptability.
Mountain-Breaking Power - His divinity is powerful enough to break a great mountain with a small gesture.
6. Sobyeol - Eastern god

Sobyeol, who is also known as the Little Star King, is an eastern god from the Hwan Kingdom and is the son of Hanul, one of the Gods of the Beginning which we will get into later on this list. Among the Five Seniors after his father, he actually ranks second in authority and out of all the gods is one of the very few that wield a bow and arrow.
He has bright eyes that sometimes take shapes of symbols and speaks in a more calmer, casual and objective way. To be honest, he should've been called the god of tricks because he's known for the ability to cover up myths with lies. He even tricked Daebyeol into falling to Hell. And another fun fact, his bow is actually Daebyeol's bow.
Powers:
Colorless Divinity - Analyzes and absorbs incoming energy (magic, sword energy, etc.), and returns it with even greater power. Also boosts both attack and defense.
Power of Change - Can alter the nature of energies and concepts.
Divine Archery - His arrows are extremely powerful (can destroy mountain peaks) and carry divinity.
Divinity Combination - Can combine his own divinity with others (e.g., Daebyeol’s) for enhanced effects.
5. Yatan - The God of Darkness

Yatan is one of three primordial gods of the Beginning. He was born from chaos alongside Rebecca and Hanul. He embodies the very essence of darkness, death and evil and is worshiped by one of the major churches, the Yatan Church, and serves as the source of power for many demons. So I would mostly say he's more like Hades if we're comparing mythology history.

Despite his not so angelic nature, he speaks rather calmly and analyzes each situation carefully and also remains completely unfazed by aggression. And also does not like killing.
Powers:
God of Darkness – Absolute authority over darkness and dark energy
God of Destruction – Capable of destroying the entire human world (has done so multiple times in the past)
Source of Demonic Power – Directly grants power to the Great Demons and is the origin of many demonic forces
Eternal Reincarnation Blessing – Grants Great Demons the ability to reincarnate eternally
Dark Influence / Curse – Can impose powerful curses (such as the Curse of Sloth on vampires)
4. Hanul - The primordial God of the Sky

Hanul is the primordial god of the sky and was born alongside the other 2 primordials, Rebecca and Yatan. He helped Rebecca create nature and life but eventually became opposed to her because she kept destroying and recreating the world.
An interesting fact about Hanul, is that his role isn't just a title and his authority is connected to actually balancing the world. Now what makes him so powerful and more far above the other gods like Judar, is obviously he's one of the primordials, but more than that he can create divine beings and manipulate the environment with his authority.
Powers:
Creation of Yangbans - He created the yangbans and granted them divine power.
Power Absorption/Imitation - He demonstrates the ability to appropriate or imitate other powers, including spatial abilities and Grid's Annihilation energy, although the stolen Annihilation power is incomplete.
3. Rebecca - The Chief God of Asgard

Rebecca is one of the most important out of the three gods and you will hear her name a lot throughout the story especially in the beginning. She was born from chaos and is the main god responsible for creating a lot of the structure of the world. She is greatly associated with light life and order. I would compare her to more of an angelic figure.
The one downfall about her is that she is always allowing the world to reach a point where it must be destroyed and recreated. But funny enough I would also describe her as the good god despite this weird fact about her.
Powers:
Goddess of Light - Divine authority over light.
Divine Creation - Can create powerful divine beings including gods and angels.
Creation of Gods - Created major gods such as Dominion Zeratul Judar and Garion.
Creation of Angels - Created the angels who serve her.
2. Grid - The Overgeared God

Grid's journey to becoming a god is a longer one. While it's very rare for players to become gods it's entirely possible. Grid started as an ordinary player and reached the Legendary class fairly quickly and easily but later became the Overgeared God and became chief of the Overgeared World and established his very own realm.

Our very own protagonist became a god through many achievements and recognition from others as Pagma's Successor. Honestly I would say it was a complete fluke because it was mostly because he did not know how to play the game properly. This was well established at the very beginning of the series well at least from the words of the organisation in charge of Satisfy.
However later in the story he does actually become good at the game and becomes extremely powerful and reaches "Absolute" status that puts him above the original primordial gods.
Powers:
Godhood / Deity - Divine status gained through his achievements and faith.
Absolute Status - Transcends ordinary gods and beings.
Overgeared World - Created and rules his own divine world.
Blacksmithing - Extraordinary divine-level blacksmithing abilities.
Item Creation - Can create incredibly powerful legendary and divine items.
God Hands - Multiple autonomous hands that can fight and use weapons independently.
Swordsmanship - Extremely powerful sword techniques and combat abilities.
Annihilation - An extremely powerful destructive force capable of damaging even top-tier beings.
Divine Authority - Can exercise various authorities gained through his achievements.
Deity Stat - His divine status increases through achievements and recognition.
Creation - Can create powerful objects and beings through his divine abilities.
Space Manipulation - Can manipulate space at an extremely high level.
Transcendence - His existence surpasses ordinary human and godly limitations.
1. Chiyou - The true Martial God

Chiyou is undoubtedly the strongest god in the series. He is the Eastern God and Guardian God, and is also described as the True Martial God. His existence itself is tied to humanity's desire for strength. The interesting part about this god is that his existence isn't dependent on a church or temple. He also has an imitation or copy and honestly, this just showcases how powerful he is, because one of the primordials used him as the person to be copied.
His relationship with Grid is different and he doesn't interfere with him like the other gods. He believes Grid can become strong enough to even kill a god. This is also why he takes interest in Grid so much that he rewards him with martial techniques.
In terms of basic power Chiyou is ridiculously strong with overwhelming strength and martial ability. Even other gods put up a struggle against him.
Powers:
True Martial God - The original and ultimate god of martial arts.
Supreme Martial Arts - Has mastered countless martial techniques and possesses unparalleled combat ability.
Overwhelming Physical Strength - Can overpower even other gods through sheer martial power.
Martial Insight - Can understand and evaluate the abilities of other martial artists.
Martial God's Secret Technique - Possesses powerful secret martial techniques that can be passed on to others.
Editor's Thoughts
Overgeared is one of those stories that I'll always remember, similar to Solo Leveling. When I first got a glimpse of it in the manhwa, it truly got me hooked. And now that there's an anime being made by J.C Staff, it's become an even bigger hook, and the studio behind the anime absolutely pulled it off. My love for anime of this genre is immense, and honestly, I think this one is the best out of this genre (a character being in a virtual reality world).
This should be the golden standard of storytelling. It doesn't just give us one theme all along the way but keeps on constantly adding more, such as the gods, and the reach is just amazing. The lore is what truly gets you immersed into it, and I for one can't wait for more and more storylines and for the complete anime adaptation.
Going into this article, I just came to a realisation how deep this actually goes. There are a ton of chapters in the manhwa and honestly it's just so much. I highly recommend if you didn't read the Light novel, to at least just check out the Manhwa. It's honestly really good and the artwork is amazing! Coming back to the gods, the story portrays them in a way that is hard to even write down. As you can see on this list, they may be gods but they are closer to the human aspect than anything else. Truly a work of art and originality! — Dean
