All Known God Daemons in Daemons of the Shadow Realm

Daemons of the Shadow Realm is filled with ordinary daemons and more rare ones. However, not all Daemons are created equal as we see plenty of times throughout the series. While most Daemons or Tsugai are powerful spirit pairs that humans can contract with, there are also entities called God Daemons or the Divine class. These are rare in the series except for a specific two, Left and Right.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm has taken off completely since the anime first premiered and rightfully so. Myself and fans have appreciated the wonderful animation, but more importantly the story. The Daemons is what sets this one apart from the rest and the God Daemons add more mystery to the story. Personally each episode has hooked me from beginning to end. The wonderful creator Hiromu Arakawa, who is also the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist, put together one epic story.
What Are God Daemons?
In this world God Daemons refer to the rarest and most powerful of all Daemons or Tsugai. For example, you get the regular ones that are used for battle but feel more like low-ranking spirits than actual deities or gods. The difference is that God Daemons are guardians that were traditionally worshipped as deities by humans. The majority of them live peacefully among humans and possess god-like strength and presence.
For example, during the very early episodes of the anime, we see a god-like being riding a horse and Yuru's Daemons say that they recognize her as a true God Daemon who lives calmly among humans without violence or conflict, unlike many other powerful Daemons. After this interaction, it’s clear from watching this scene that Right and Left treat her with reverence, which shows that even they view Oshira-sama as a higher, more peaceful kind of divine being. The only problem is we don’t know how the fundamentals work, like how certain Daemons know if other Daemons are godly or not.
However, it is established in the manga that Daemons have a special bond with their other half and can use their instinct to perceive others, meaning they are able to distinguish high-level or divine entities, such as the Oshira-sama pair, but this also has a few confusing explanations.
All Known God Daemons in Daemons of the Shadow Realm
Oshira-sama
Oshira-sama is one of the rare God Daemons and appears as a calm white-haired woman riding a big white majestic horse. They are a peaceful pair that is actually worshipped in folklore as a deity of silk, agriculture, and horses. Unlike many other Daemons, she lives calmly among humans without any violence whatsoever.
As a true god, she has lived for centuries. She is recognized after 400 years apart from Left and Right. The early story arc has not shown her fighting at all. However, being on the divine tier rank, she no doubt bears destructive powers, but as of now she is still a complete mystery.

Left And Right
Left and Right, the Daemons contracted with Yuru, are also in fact God Daemons because they were ancient guardian statues worshipped for centuries by the villagers of Higashi and were portrayed as divine protectors. Like Oshira-sama, they belong to the rare class specifically because they were traditionally revered as deities.
Left and Right possess godly strength, including stone-hard bodies that can resist almost all attacks, as well as the ability to release shockwaves. However, the most impressive thing about them is that they are immune to two of the strongest abilities in the series: Break and Seal. Right can stop Break, and Left can stop Seal. This makes them the perfect match for Yuru.
As stated earlier, godly beings are for the most part peaceful, and this can be said the same for Left and Right. We constantly see this throughout the series, they will only fight to protect Yuru. Even though Right is the hot-headed one, they still have that knightly honor to them and are always battle ready, as guardians should be.
God Daemons Are Rare And This Is Why
As you can see above, the God class are exceptionally rare. These are the only current known ones in the story, but there are many more that have not been shown yet, which is a good thing, right? This clearly shows that seeing one of them is a special sight and should be very uncommon. The story will likely introduce even more as it continues to grow.
The “God” label is reserved for the rare ones that were literally treated as deities by humans and carry that special divine recognition. Many people might be thinking that the referenced Mountain God Daemon, who is mentioned several times, is a divine entity, but it’s in fact a different category. The Mountain God Daemon (Yamakaze and Tanikaze) is a powerful mountain spirit, but the term "god" needs to tick a certain box. This Daemon was never worshipped as a deity by humans, and it does not carry the divine aura that is recognised by other Daemons, for example, how Left and Right recognised Oshira-sama.

Editor's Thoughts
Daemons of the shadow realm quickly skyrocketed after it first premiered as an anime, but the series was popular even before that. I remember starting to read it as soon as I heard the creator was the same person behind Full Metal Alchemist. And honestly after the first arc I was hooked. I fell in love with the bond of family with Yuru and Asa, it's genuinely a good alternative to FMA as it also features the bond of family.
The first episode from season one was exactly how I'd imagined it would be, the studio adapted the manga perfectly. The part where Yuru revives the statues was amazing and looked like a lot of details went into this, with the daemons flying out and taking out a helicopter only to return in a big cloud of dust Infront of Yuru's eye.
Another favorite thing about this story is that daemons add an extra layer of deepfelt bonds such as Left and Right. They are one of my favorite daemons in the series and their strength and undying loyalty to Yuru make it even more pleasing. The gods is just another layer of how impactful this story is. Of course this story portrays them as rare sights which is right, making god daemons more common diminishes the fact of their godliness. Seeing one should create a buzz in the fandom and I think the writer nailed it with the story, truly a perfection! — Dean
